New Cadillac Escala Concept: Modern Style, Classic Luxury

The new Cadillac Escala Concept was unveiled recently, showing the future of Cadillac design and engineering. This new sedan will likely be the flagship for the brand, alongside the CT6. With sweeping contours, a minimalist exterior, and the latest technologies, the Escala will leave you speechless.

According to Cadillac, the word “Escala” comes from the Spanish for “scale.” The brand chose this name to reflect the model’s larger and more expressive build. This four-door sedan comes with a liftback design and more than 210.5 inches of length. Organic light emitting diode (OLED) lighting is one of the first things you will notice, as two bright slits that give the Escala a mysterious look.

“Escala is a concept with two clear objectives,” said Johan de Nysschen, president of Global Cadillac. “First, Escala is a statement of intent for the next iteration of the Cadillac design language, and also technical concepts in development for future Cadillac models. Secondly, Escala builds Cadillac’s aspirational character, signaling the brand’s return to the pinnacle of premium.”

Other great features include a three-dimensional precision grille pattern, 22-inch two-layer spoke wheels, and three curved OLED screens on the interior. Under the hood is a 4.2-liter twin-turbo V8, with Active Fuel Management. Plus, Cadillac harkened back to its origins by showcasing the “Flying Goddess” icon throughout the car, a symbol synonymous with the first generation of Cadillacs.

We can’t wait to see the Escala when it takes its final production form soon.

The 2016 CT6 Sedan is Cadillac's flagship, a title likely to be earned by the Cadillac Escala as well.

The Cadillac Escala will likely be joining the CT6 as Cadillac’s flagship.
